sorry about that, you can not remove it from what I know of which is why I assumed that you were speaking of the Dock Tray...
once the public release of the full retail version is out (this is beta) it might have that option added.
for now it pretty much gives you another way into your docs if you happen to have dual displays and have your docks on the second display, then lose that display the docks would still be stuck on it. meaning you could not get to them...
with the icon in the tray, you can get to them, so I am not sure if it will or will not be optional to turn it off. I can see people turning it off and having their setup as described above and then flipping out because OD+ would not let them get to their docks...

Actually, IP, if you lose the second display, the docks snap to the first on their own. I've had this happen several times when I was tweaking driver settings.

For the main OD+ icon
right-click on taskbar...choose properties...next to hide inactive icons...choose Customize...find the icon on the list and change behavior to
always hide
For the individual OD+ dock icons do what IP said
